New Year Intention-Setting Workshop with Lara Land
Pre-covid, we know that over 70% of the US population had survived some form of trauma. Since the pandemic, those numbers have only risen. Trauma survivors and folks dealing with traumatic stress are in every room. They don’t wear signs, and they might not tell us. It is our job in corporate, school, or other shared settings to be aware of the hidden trauma that is in every room and to educate ourselves so that we don’t unintentionally do harm.

You can improve your skills by learning about trauma and implementing some simple, tangible techniques for creating safer spaces for your team and the folks you serve.

Half and Full-Day Trauma-Sensitivity Workshops are available both in person and virtually.

Women’s Reemergence Retreat - Lara Land

Our bodies, energies, and psychies go through a natural rhythm of inward and outward cycles. This happen throughout each hour, day, week, month, and over the course of the year. We awaken in the day, opening to it, and come inward as it progresses. In fall we are active, in winter still, and in spring surface once again. Think of a flower which opens to the light in the morning and closes again each night. It’s natural and it’s necessary. Getting in touch with and in relationship with the flow on the seasons allows us to work with our natural energies and tempo and make the most of all seasons knowing when to spring ahead.

The final days of March open a window of possibility and creativity which we can capture and use to enliven the months ahead. Join me, as we step out of winter’s hibernation, for a 3-day cleansing reemgergence yoga retreat and come alive again to health, movement, spirit and purpose. Shed sleepiness, revive vitality, and get the creative juices flowing once more.

Nearly a month after the Women’s Realignment Retreat, I am still discovering the profound impact that my time with Lara (and the other eleven lovely women who participated) has had on me. I attended the retreat with a single, very specific focus and goal in mind. What I came away with not only addressed that issue, but every aspect of my life and helped me find better balance, create time for myself, and improve my energy levels. Just as important, during the retreat (and still), Lara created an overwhelming sense of inclusion, acceptance, openness, and appreciation for each other that made me feel welcome, inspired, and empowered. I carry off of this with me still.

I would like to tell that everything in this retreat was above my expectations and was so lucky to find it. I came first to relax and take care of myself in the nature and I received so much more. The location was in a so peaceful and beautiful place close to Andes with only nature and water around. We are living in a so cute house with this old style fashioned with wood everywhere, our room was super welcoming with window opened on the lovely nature around, also sharing my rooming was a great nice experience. I slept in a crazy way so so well. Adding to that the food was extraordinary delicious, beautifully presented and so healthy, I felt regenerating my body as well my mind and my eyes.

I was super lucky to integrate a so amazing group with people coming from different places sharing with their hearts their experiences their wishes their life styles and humor. I would finish to thank 2 amazing amazing persons Lara and Thimo that took care of us in a so lovely and warmly way to guide us in this retreat to connect with our mind, body, nature and breathing through yoga ashtanga and meditation. They make that accessible for everyone , I am a beginner and that revealed to me a so much better way to live my life that I am gonna include in my routine. I mean I felt so so good , I can just definitively to recommend you this retreat everyone deserve to experience it. So thanks Lara and Thimo and all the people in this group that bring to me so much love and benevolence.

STREAMSIDE YOGA

Yoga classes are ongoing Tuesdays 9:15am-10:30am

Suggested donation is $20 due by 3pm Monday before class

Ashtanga is a powerful style of yoga that involves matching the movement of the breath with the movement in and out of postures. We use a set sequence of poses which we build upon as we grow together and which can be adapted to any level and ability. In this weekly class Lara emphasizes the three-pointed focus of breath, gaze, and posture and suggests ways for using this focus to transform the practice into a moving meditation. Prepare to sweat if you want to or move more slowly and have any pose modified to meet your needs.

Recharge in the land of fairies, geysers and volcanoes

Recharge in the land of fairies, geysers and volcanoes

Imagine 3280 foot high glaciers, volcanoes, wide land, black beaches, fairies and trolls. Standing there, you are surrounded by gush springs impressing you with their shooting water fountains, healing hot springs and fascinating polar lights. Iceland is less than 6 hours from New York, but there you find a whole different world with incredible nature, myths and such a rare energy.

Made of lava, ice, wind and water – Iceland offers you an unique experience which passes its origin and power onto you. Everyone who has been there knows that Iceland is enchanting.

A few highlights:

Biggest volcano-island (Sorry Big Island!)
Glaciers with Europe’s biggest ice volume
Europe’s most powerful waterfall

Forces of nature and energy describe Iceland most accurately. Thanks to its special geographic position – it’s on the american and on the eurasian tectonic plate – it is connected to hot rock mass from the earth’s core. And this is exactly what you can feel!

If that has not convinced you (yet!) to visit this extraordinary island, maybe the following reasons will! Look and see:

Iceland will seduce you with it’s breathtaking scenery and many surprises.

1. Volcanoes and glaciers

The pairing of volcanoes and glaciers is a rare wonder of nature. Nowhere else will you get to witness such an impressive connection of opposites. Fire and ice aren’t just the elements of the nordic myths, they are still impressing us to this day.

2. Old legends and spirituality

Iceland is a mystical place and its residents believe in fairies, trolls and goblins. Their legends and tales are important and deeply rooted in the everyday life of Icelandic people.

3. Healing thermal springs

Iceland’s thermal springs have several benefits. Whether you jump right into a healing hot spring or bake your bread in the hot powerful earth, you will surely recharge your energy reserves here.

4. A place of confident women who follow their own ideal of beauty

“I wanted to use this opportunity to stand up for myself and the women on this planet, for young women”, said Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir Miss Island 2015 who rejected her attendance on the election of Miss Grand International. The host asked her to eat less. “It is okay to be yourself. If you like yourself, you should just say it.” We totally agree!

5. Stunning scenery you know from movies and tv-shows

Game of Thrones and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty are just two of many international movie and tv-show productions that know and use the beauty of the island.

6. Europe fell head over heels in love with Iceland in the summer of 2016

During the European Championship in 2016 it was Iceland who surprised us all. Their passionate spirit and win over England made the audience fall in love and the legendary chant gave goosebumps to every soccer-fan.

Vacation in Iceland is a combination of sustainability and regeneration.

7. Iceland stands for alternative energies and green tourism.

Iceland is one big role-model when it comes down to renewable energy and decrease of Co2. The energy supply is made by geothermic and hydrothermic energy by 81 percent and provides for electricity, heat and transportation. Starting in the year 2050 Reykjavik wants to stop using fossil fuels.

Geothermic energy is not just supplying all buildings in the city, it is also responsible for heat in the houses and the many greenhouses, as well as street lightning. And of course the thermic heat provides for all the popular outdoor pools. You won’t find a better place to enjoy eco-tourism.

8. On the trail of Jules Verne

“The journey to the center of the earth” begins with the entrance to Iceland’s volcano Snæfellsjökull. This is a story we all know of since childhood and it will clearly be the travel-read when you start the adventure of visiting Snæfellsjökull volcano yourself.

9. Wales, Iceland horses and puffins

Another fascinating aspect about Iceland is its animal kingdom. You get the chance to be with and ride on Icelandic horses, explore beautiful puffins and observe fascinating mink whales, porpoises, dolphins, finbacks, blue- and humpback whales. And maybe even the black and white marked grampus.

If you are thinking about visiting Iceland and experiencing its amazing landscape and archaic original power – 2017 is the perfect time to do it!

Because the numbers of tourists, media attention, and word of mouth are striking, Iceland is getting more and more popular which means the time is limited to explore its raw uniqueness free of mass tourism.

The best time for an extraordinary journey is NOW!
